In the second addition to Civilization VI, Gathering Storm, the world around you will come to life.

Advanced technologies and engineering projects, participation in the World Congress and interaction with the world community on key issues will help you on the path to victory.

• NATURAL PHENOMENA: Volcanoes, storms (blizzards, sandstorms, tornadoes, hurricanes), climate change, floods, and droughts.
• POWER AND CONSUMABLE RESOURCES: Strategic resources take on a new role in Gathering Storm, fueling power plants and generating electricity in cities.
• ENGINEERING PROJECTS: Shape the world and harness nature. Build canals, dams, tunnels, and railroads. When laying out new cities, be aware that coastal lowlands may be flooded. On the other hand, new technologies (such as seawalls) can help protect the coast from the elements in the late game.
• WORLD CONGRESS: Make your voice heard around the world. Earn diplomatic favor by forming alliances, influencing city-states, and participating in the World Games.
• 21ST CENTURY TECHNOLOGIES AND CIVILS: A new era has been added to the tech and civics trees. Survive natural disasters with futuristic technologies like sea settlements and carbon capture.
• NEW LEADERS AND CIVIL STATES: Nine leaders and eight civilisations have been added. Each leader and civilisation has unique advantages and playstyles. There are also nine unique units, four buildings, three improvements, two districts and one governor.
• New Scenarios:
- The Black Death – The Black Death, which raged across Europe and the Middle East in the mid-14th century, killed more people than any other event in human history. The pandemic killed millions, wiped out entire countries and ended ruling dynasties. European civilisation was changed forever.
- "War Machine" - On the eve of World War I, the German General Staff devised a daring plan: to invade neutral Belgium and from there strike at the heart of France, preventing it from mobilizing.
• NEW CONTENT: Added seven new wonders of the world, seven natural wonders, 18 units, 15 improvements, 9 buildings, 5 districts, 2 city sets, 9 technologies and 10 civics.
• IMPROVED GAMEPLAY: The espionage system has been expanded with new variants, the conditions for cultural and scientific victories have been changed, new historical moments have been added and changes have been made to existing systems.
