Taking on the role of one of three heroes – each with their own unique story – players embark on a non-linear adventure in an open world through a detailed and densely packed fantasy landscape. Divided into two separate phases, players travel through the kingdom in a third person, completing quests, exploring the wilderness and getting to know the people they meet. However, when conflict arises, the perspective changes to tactical turn-based combat. Players must then use their units wisely while fighting for victory.

The action takes place in the vast kingdoms of Antara, a great danger has arisen. A mysterious pestilence has struck its remote areas, destroying the earth and everyone who lives there. Refugees from the affected regions began to arrive in the kingdom of Nostria, experiencing shortages of food and resources. Once living souls, creatures distorted by pestilence now roam the countryside, leaving chaos and destruction in their wake. The earth itself is fighting for survival, giving your decisions more weight than ever before. How will you shape the future of Antara?

An interactive and cinematic story told through the lens of a cinematic experience, King´s Bounty 2 provides a choice for the players, not their mouths. Adhering to the classic RPG traditions, players are often faced with difficult moral choices that have far-reaching consequences for the fate of the kingdom. But instead of relying on simple dialogue options, the actions of the players have the true weight.
The landscape matters – when players engage in battle, the battlefield directly reflects a certain part of the world map that they cross. This forces players to consider their surroundings before engaging in combat to minimize potential risks or even try to gain the upper hand.
No more flat arenas – realistic, three-dimensional battlefields are now an integral part of the battle in King´s Bounty 2. Creating maximum tactical diversity, all kinds of obstacles and features can be found on combat maps, from ravines and hills to vans and much more. Each battle now has its own unique tactical advantages and disadvantages.
The new character development system – King´s Bounty 2 provides players with a choice of three characters, each with their own unique story. As they explore the kingdom, their stories change as they adhere to different ideals: Strength, Art, Order, and Anarchy. These choices not only affect how NPCs react to them, but also have a tangible impact on the world.
