December 1989, deserted forests and hills of a Swedish village. It´s been a month since the population disappeared overnight, and you´ve spent that time exploring the bleak open world alone and with friends, keeping to the shadows looking for gear and weapons, trying to stay alive. All this time, you have identified the mastermind behind the events leading up to the attack, and now it has led you to Himfjall. This uncharted island off the east coast may contain more answers and perhaps something even more valuable - other survivors.
Functions

HIMFJELL ISLAND
This once popular ski resort, covered in snow from coast to coast, now stands abandoned by the winds and enemies roaming the area. However, there is plenty to discover here, from the cafes and shops in the small towns that grace Himfjall, to the ski slopes, campsites in trailer parks, and the dense pine forests that cover the island. In addition, Björntunet is a key attraction, this once pleasant ski resort is now used as a hideout. As long as you keep an eye on your surroundings, who knows what you might find.
YOU´RE NOT ALONE
Himfjall can be unexplored and very dangerous, but there are also clear signs that more information about the cars and the situation in general can be found there. But beyond simple answers, you´ve found something infinitely better - a group of survivors who managed to hold their own against the machines through gritted teeth. These are the first people you´ve come face to face with since that fateful day, and with each other´s help, you can still survive this invasion.
MORE ACHIEVEMENTS AND COLLECTIBLES
The new area is covered in collectibles you can find, from lost voice recorder journal entries to character biographies. In addition, there are a number of new achievements for you to try and complete.
APOCALYPSE CLASS CARS
If you´re not vigilant as you make your way around the new island, sooner or later you´ll encounter what appears to be a new level of machines. They bear a distinct resemblance to their lightly armed counterparts, but are deadlier on a level never seen before. Specially designed by the FNIX to hunt down all survivors and subdue any human who tries to fight back, the machines are armed with weapons so heinous that they would be banned by the Geneva Convention. From Hunters with flamethrowers to runners with biochemical machine guns, you will have to rethink and rethink your tactics to defeat these new enemies. Keep in mind that Österthorn could be in danger too, as these Apocalypse-class machines could make it to the mainland.
EXPANDED ARSENAL
Your quest for survival will require extensive research, and if luck is on your side, you may even stumble upon new weapons to add to your arsenal. The KVM 89 Squad Automatic Weapon and the KVM 59 Machine Gun can be found while searching around the island, so stay tuned. With the relocation of the Apocalypse-class machines, there is also a potential chance to find them on Österthorn as well.
